57

57... Pictures. ENJOY!

Eyes: Just a project to compare our eyes.

Tonight I painted their nails:

Amy wears this towel on her head and calls it her hair. It even has a pony tail now, and when she takes it off she says, "I take off my hair."

It snowed on Friday and Dustin took Amy outside to build a snowman, isn't she a cute little snow bunny?

I braided Adelynne's hair and she posed for some pictures, she still cocks her head to the side because she says it is cute.

Nemo doesn't like the flash on the camera:

On my birthday, I love my girls!

At Grandpa and Grandma Belt's house where Adelynne went sledding and Amy got a black eye.

Lots of Christmas pictures: excited faces, nightgowns by Gramma Biggs, boys with tutus on their heads, singing carols, Amy the shepherd, the Christmas story, Christmas feast, and lots of smiles:

The story of Amy and the Tuba: As typical per Amy fashion, only wearing her panties

Some Christmas celebrations, squishy noses, and playing memory with Daddy:

81

81. That's how many days I made it being pregnant and not throwing up. That streak ended this morning. I drink a full glass of water every morning when I take my thyroid medication- it is important to drink enough water so that I don't destroy my kidneys. So I drank my glass of water with my pill, and I drank it all a little too quickly, I guess. I was throwing it all back up in the kitchen sink, and then I started to get a little light headed. I could feel the need to get down on the ground quickly as I was heading to that dark place, and I didn't want it to happen while I was standing. So I went down on my knees and I was starting to lay down when I lost all control of my muscles and body and I just kind of fell over on to the ground. But I never passed out, it was just a very strange sensation.

Oh how I hate throwing up.

10

10 weeks. Today I finally made an effort to find an OB/GYN, since the one I had before moved out of state. I called one office and asked if they were accepting new patients. The woman on the phone said that they were and that the first available appointment was in March. I said, "That's not going to work for me, I am 10 weeks pregnant." Then she explained that my first visit would be with a nurse practitioner and her next available appointment would be on February 26th. FEBRUARY 26TH! WHAT!? Nope, that's not going to work for me either. So I said no thank you and made another phone call to another office that could get me in next week, and with the doctor that delivered Amy, because he was my doctor's partner and at the hospital that day she was born. Much better. What is it with OB/GYN offices? I've had problems like this before, where you need to see the doctor, but the next available appointments are months away. Its like you can only get in if you are pregnant, and then that's not even a guarantee.

Well, so far this pregnancy is okay. Just okay. I don't feel the greatest, but I don't feel awful either. I feel really blessed, actually. I have not thrown up at all, and only one strong wave of nausea. But I feel sick to my stomach nearly all day, food tastes weird at times, and I always have a terrible after taste no matter what I eat. Sweet foods really do not appeal to me, though sometimes my head is still telling me I want to eat it. I'm not motivated to do much else than just lay around on the couch, but I try to keep busy because it takes my mind off the yucky feelings in my stomach. I really am grateful that I'm not as sick as I was during my two other pregnancies. See, I have this problem: When I'm about to throw up and the nausea sweeps over me, I pass out. Its a condition called vasovagalsyncope. Whenever I feel nauseated I know its coming, it really freaks me out, and it also drains me physically. It happened several times when I was pregnant with Amy, and that's when I officially received my diagnosis. It also happens when I am not pregnant, during times of stomach flu sickness. So NOT fun. So yeah, I am very grateful I haven't been super sick. Maybe this will be the kind of pregnancy that I'm only sick during the first trimester! (Since my other two I was sick all the way through).

27

Its my birthday today. I am 27. Its a good age to be. I started the day off with a prayer, one of gratitude. I feel so blessed and loved! Then I also enjoyed some reading from the Book of Mormon and the Old Testament. I don't usually get to start my day off with such sacred time, but I'm glad I did today, I needed it, and it has made my day that much better. Its really just another day with some extra attention, (which I don't mind), and a good excuse to consume extra calories. Here's to the birthday cake! I'm getting 2 today: one ice cream cake with my family, and a chocolate cake with friends tonight at volleyball, compliments of my dear friend Mary.

So my most exciting news to share on my 27th birthday is that I am 8 weeks pregnant. Baby #3 is on its way! I am due August 24th, just after my mom's birthday on the 22nd.

Its going to be a great year!

Just in case...

I happen to be at my parents house in Northern California, so if you get a hit on your blog from that region, please don't freak out.  Or if you get a comment from gpbiggs, that is my mom's account and I am just to lazy to sign her out and then sign me in every time I want to read your blogs.  So please, bear with me.  :)

I'll be back in Indiana soon enough.

What Amy does when Daddy *isn't* watching

At least she's washing windows

She was more than happy to say "Cheese"
The worst part for me was that she was standing in front of the window for all the world to see.
Amy would spend all day naked like this, she loves to live the free life, no fuss, no worries.

Amy and Sylvia

Amy loves Sylvia, here they are snuggling together. Too cute!
I watch Sylvia three days a week, and she is a joy to have in our little home.
Sylvia has enlightened my girls perspective of babies and how fun they are. Both of the girls can't wait for me to have another baby. Adelynne is almost obsessed with me having a baby. She has drawn a picture of a mommy monster with a baby in her tummy, and she has told her grandparents that "We are going to have a baby. It will come in mommy's tummy." Oh the joys.

What not to eat

After dropping Adelynne off at preschool this afternoon, Amy and I enjoyed a leisure walk back to the apartment. Along the way, we came across a frog. I pointed it out to Amy, and she was quite fascinated by seeing the frog. She began to shout at it, "Say ribbit! Say ribbit!" And then without any notice she says, "I step on it," and her foot began to squish into it. But before she could harm it, I screamed at her to not step on it. I told her, "Don't step on the frog! We don't step on frogs." (I think in her mind the frog was like a big bug that she could just step on). So, Amy proceeded to yell at the frog, "Say ribbit! Say ribbit!" And then as the frog hopped off into the grass, and Amy and I continued on our walk, Amy looked up at me and asked, "We no step on frogs?" I replied, "No, we don't step on frogs." And then she asked, "We no eat frogs either?"

No, Amy, we don't eat frogs.

Hide and Seek

Amy: (closing her eyes), "Find me, mommy! Where's me? Where's me?"

Hair

Just look at that hair!
It just blows my mind how little hair this girl had one year ago. Just look at the slide show of Amy in the side bar. I knew that she was bald, but it seems lately that it is really obvious (at least to me) how bald she really was. My brother used to say she looked like a "chemo baby." I never thought so, until now!

Guilty

I had a bad day as a mommy.

During one of my low moments, I told Adelynne that I was going to give her away to another family and that she needed to go pack her bag. (I know, how awful am I?)! She had the saddest face, and said in her most concerned, crying voice, "I don't want to go to another family. I love you!"

Oh, I gave her the biggest hug possible and calmed her fears. I told her that I love her too, and for another moment, (but just a moment), I felt loved and needed. If I can just think about that moment today, then it wasn't so terrible a day.

She should get paid for this picture

Yogurt

Adelynne calls yogurt, "ogurt." She just doesn't quite get the "Yo" sound. So, she was watching her favorite movie, "Ella Enchanted," and its the part where the Ogres show up. Adelynne points at them and asks me, "Is that where ogurt comes from?"

She was serious. It was funny.

A Bad Bump

Amy was running down the hall, fell and bumped her head pretty bad today. She hit so hard that she even had a nose bleed, and an immediate nose bleed. She cried so pitifully in her daddy's arms until she fell asleep. I was so worried that I called a nurse about the situation. She told me just to watch for signs of a concussion. You can't see it too well in this picture, but you'll see it for sure in the last one.
My little "Klingon" baby
If you click on this picture you will really see how bad it is.
She ended up being fine, no concussion. But she'll have a nice bruise for a while.

Our friend Sabrina

Our good friend and neighbor, Sabrina, turned 3 today! It was fun to be a part of her day at a small party this evening. She is such a funny and sweet girl, one of Amy's favorite friends to play with. And they play so well together, well most of the time. These girls will make believe about having babies and being mommies, driving cars, and running from dragons. They are so cute when they play well together. I laughed when Doreen, Sabrina's mom, told me that Sabrina insisted on having a Spider Man cake for her birthday (Amy would totally do that). I brought along my camera (finally), and I wanted to share some of the pictures from the party.
Dustin and Eddie. Eddie loves Dustin and being held by him. I'm pretty sure Dustin loves him right back.
The gaggle of girls enjoying their cake. They are chanting: "Happy Birthday, Sabrina!" (Dylan was also present, but I think he was enjoying the playground-sorry he's not in any pictures Sarah, I was noticing that and feeling bad).
Sabrina received some Russian nesting dolls from her family, and she was so happy to get them, I loved her face when she saw them.

I was pondering today about how my family and I have been a part of all 3 of Sabrina's birthdays, and what a treasure and blessing it has been to do so. We just love her to pieces and her family, and have loved having them in our lives for the past three years.
Happy Birthday, Sabrina! We love you!
